About the Event
Dr. Scott Rae has spent his career helping Christians think biblically and carefully about some of the most challenging ethical questions of our day. His particular areas of expertise include medical and business ethics, with a focus on bringing Christian convictions to bear on real-world questions in medicine, technology, and the marketplace.
At PTC, Dr. Rae will help us navigate important ethical conversations surrounding human sexuality and reproductive technology, including issues such as IVF. These are increasingly complex questions that pastors and church leaders are being asked to address, and we look forward to benefiting from his years of study and experience.
Dr. Rae has authored numerous books on ethics, including Moral Choices: An Introduction to Ethics, Brave New Families: Biblical Ethics and Reproductive Technologies, Beyond Integrity: A Judeo-Christian Approach to Business Ethics, and Body and Soul: Human Nature and the Crisis in Ethics. His work has also appeared in a wide range of academic journals and publications.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Rae has served as an ethics consultant for several Southern California hospitals, bringing theological and ethical reflection into real-life medical situations. He is also a fellow of the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity and the Wilberforce Forum.
We’re excited to welcome Dr. Rae to PTC and to learn from his thoughtful, biblically grounded approach to some of the ethical questions pastors are facing today.
